Barefoot trims, Performance and Therapeutic shoeing

Trimming and shoeing, horses with special needs*, and draft horses** will be charged according to time and materials on a case-by-case basis.

  • If you have questions about base pricing, please ask them before work begins.
  • Payment is ALWAYS due and EXPECTED upon completion of work. Both checks and cash are acceptable forms of payment.
  • I do not hold checks or accept post-dated checks. If you do not pay upon completion of work, a billing fee will be added to your total

 

A horse that requires extra labor, time and or materials at time of trimming or shoeing.
** A trimmed front hoof that measures more than 16¼ inches in circumference from heel point to heel point at the ground surface is a draft horse size and requires a shoe larger than size 4.

 

Additional Cost Items (added to the above fees)
Aluminum shoes, Plastic or leather pads with hoof packing, Equi-Pack pour in pads, Composite hoof repairs, Glue-on shoes, Shoe traction modification, etc.

 

Miscellaneous

I do not desire to provide these services.  However, if they are not addressed before work begins fees will be applied accordingly. Please have your horse ready!!!!

·       Fly Spray

·       Mud and Dirt Removal below (Knee/Hock per horse)

·       Catch Horse (horses turned out in large pasture)

Catch Horse Fees may also be applied for undue time waiting for the handler and horse.

 

Behaviorally Challenged Horses: I reserve the right to cease work on a horse at any time during the trimming or shoeing session if I feel the the situation is escalating to the point safe and quality work can be performed. 

·       Fees will be administered on a case by case basis in regards to time and materials. 

·       Fees may also reflect my time on the clock while the handler works with the horse or sedation is given.  Please Be Aware I am on a  schedule and have other appointments to keep.

·       By law a licensed Veterinarian is the only  person to give IV or IM sedation.

 

Barn Calls: Based on number horses and distance from my street address or last stop which ever is closer.  Barns in the same area with few horses may share travel fees if the appointments scheduled in advance.

 

Canceled Appointments:  Please cancel appointments promptly.  If the appointment is not canceled prior to my arrival, a Barn Call Fee will be applied.

Payment Fees

$10.00 Billing Fee (added to total when an unpaid invoice is mailed or left at the stables)

$10.00 Over 10 days past due (late fee added to unpaid invoice)

$30.00 Bad Check Fee Cash only payment accepted from there on after.
More than 30 days past due (18% APR interest compounded daily and added to total amount due)
